Charles Dickens Cabinet

Permanent Dickens exhibition in the Walstraat

Visit the Charles Dickens Cabinet in the former Women's Prison in Walstraat and learn about the life and work of Charles Dickens.

In this small museum you can see numerous books, including some first editions, prints, beautiful costumes and statues of Dickens characters and a table set with Dickens tableware. In the library you can view the most special editions and cutting files of and about Charles Dickens. The exhibition and library are composed with a large number of showpieces from the impressive Dickens collection of Emmy Strik, initiator of the Dickens Festival that takes place annually in December.

The Charles Dickens Cabinet is open all year round on Saturdays from 12.00:16.00 to 2:XNUMX and admission costs €XNUMX. It is also possible to book a guided tour of the Charles Dickens Cabinet and Costume Studio with a group.
